MFA Thesis Exhibition 2024

Exhibition Design

BU’s 2024 MFA Graphic Design Thesis Exhibition was titled “Side B,” borrowing the metaphor of flipping a record to its B-side. It signals a creative stance that embraces detours from the expected, experiments with unconventional tools, and reveals design through multiple forms of making and craft.

Era of Overlap (2024) is an experimental poster built around layering and juxtaposition. Through digital collage and stratified typography, I stack textures, noise, and translucent masks so that text shifts from information into material. The image oscillates between clarity and distortion, order and interference—like a signal repeatedly overwritten and re-developed—inviting viewers to decode it through both distance and close looking.
