Glenstone
Visual System

Identity and logo system
→ Print, editorial, and exhibition applications
→ Digital experience and seasonal event extensions

Glenstone is a contemporary art museum in Potomac, Maryland, known for its quiet, low-density viewing experience shaped by art, architecture, and landscape. This redesign proposal responds to that atmosphere by developing a clearer and more scalable communication system that remains restrained, immersive, and spatially aligned.

[Logo Design]
This logo translates Glenstone’s quiet, immersive atmosphere into a restrained visual form. Rather than relying on expressive branding, it emphasizes clarity, balance, and a sense of space. Built with an architectural simplicity, the combination of curves and straight lines echoes the order and beauty of built environments while also recalling stone tiles or an abstract fragment of a floor plan; the inward-extending G suggests a path leading the viewer deeper into the space.

[Printed Communication System]
A series of public-facing print applications for Glenstone, including posters, tickets, business cards, and other paper-based materials. The system translates the museum’s quiet, architectural atmosphere into print through clear hierarchy, restrained composition, and generous white space.

[Merchandise Applications]
Merchandise applications developed to carry Glenstone’s visual identity beyond the museum space. By applying the brand through subtle graphics, refined typography, and restrained composition, these objects function as quiet extensions of the institution’s architectural and immersive atmosphere.

[Digital Experience]
A mobile interface system for Glenstone that brings the museum’s quiet, architectural identity into a digital format. Using clear hierarchy, restrained composition, and generous spacing, the experience supports navigation and information access while remaining calm, readable, and consistent with the larger brand system.

[Event Extensions - Summer Evenings]
A seasonal event identity for Glenstone’s evening program, designed as an extension of the museum’s larger visual system. The applications maintain Glenstone’s quiet and architectural character while introducing a slightly warmer, more inviting tone for after-hours communication.

[Wayfinding Extensions — Summer Evenings]
A portable wayfinding system created for Glenstone’s seasonal evening program, designed as an extension of the museum’s broader visual language. The stop-based signage supports a calm, low-distraction campus experience after dusk—prioritizing legibility, restraint, and consistent hierarchy. Edge-lit, movable displays and QR-linked navigation keep the system flexible for after-hours use while staying aligned with Glenstone’s quiet, architectural character.
